Welcome back to Term 3! In the next 10 weeks, we have the Centenary Gala, Intercol, Book Week, the Athletics Carnivals, and will select and announce the 2024 Prefects. I hope the school holidays were a chance for you and your family to relax and unwind before we launch ourselves into this busy term and into the second half of our Centenary year.
Below are the recently launched Rostrevor Centenary Episodes 3 and 4 - His Journey and Generations. I hope you enjoy!
Rostrevor’s youngest students had their first official day of school this week, most of them having participated in the Little Rossi Learner program last term. Looking smart in their new uniforms, the boys have settled into their classroom with their teacher, Mrs Amber Norman.
We also welcome three new boarding students to our College community this week: Barnaby Wood (Year 10) from Rapid Creek NT, Harvey Pearce (Year 9) from Port Lincoln SA, and Majoor Ackland (Year 10) from Coffin Bay SA. I wish them all the best as they settle into their new home away from home.
Over the holidays, we commenced a new building project in the Junior Years. This project represents the first element of the current College Master Plan. Over the next two terms we will work with our builders, Blu Built Constructions, as they refurbish seven Junior Year classrooms and a student bathroom along our southern boundary. The refurbished classrooms will contribute to a modern pedagogical approach to learning with shared break-out spaces.
In partnership with the wider College community, the College is seeking donations for the silent & live auctions, with all proceeds donated to the Rostrevor College Foundation.

Congratulations to the Frist XI Soccer team on their achievement at the Interstate Independent School Cup in Week 1 of the school holidays, winning the cup for the second year in a row! Rostrevor played four schools over the course of the tournament, including St. Peter’s College, Moriah College and Newington College from NSW and Huchins School from Tasmania. Well done to Vincenzo Scalzi (Year 11) for being named as the Player of the Tournament! Vincenzo, Antony Rapuano (Year 11) and Nicholas Malatesta (Year 12) were all named in the Team of the Tournament.
On Wednesday, the First XI played St Ignatius at Service FM Stadium, Gepps Cross, with spectators on the edge of their seats as they watched the final whistle blow at three goals apiece!
Our Year 7/8 State basketball team, led by coach Peter Steel, won the championship trophy with an impressive 9-straight wins. Congratulations to Jordan Becker, Brock Langeluddecke, Jack Isaac, Dylan Rehn, Dylan Lomman, Oliver Easton, Ryder McNamara, Kai Fendt and Tom Laube. These young men all played exceptionally and are well-deserving of their victory.
Congratulations to Year 11 student, John Boccaccio on his selection for the State 16 Years and Under Soccer team! John will head off to Canberra in mid-September to take part in the School Sports Australia Championship. We wish him the best of luck!
Congratulations to Year 7 students, Adriano Talladira, Ryder Dalton, Sebastian Schirripa, and Joshua Tassotti for being selected for the 12 Years and Under South Australian Soccer Team, representing SA in the School Sport Australia Championships in Victoria coming up in October. Of the 13 places available to boys from anywhere in SA, what a fantastic achievement that Rostrevor represents four of these! Good luck, boys!
Congratulations to Miles Fotheringham (Year 8) on his selection for the Under 15 SA State Water Polo team! We wish him all the best as he flies to Sydney in late September to compete at the National Under 15 Water Polo Championships.
