Rostrevor College is a Catholic College in the Edmund Rice Tradition, educating both day and residential students from Reception to Year 12. The school comprises students from Reception to Year 12, all within the same grounds. We work inclusively across all year levels. The importance of guiding and providing pastoral support to boys and young men throughout their secondary schooling cannot be overstated. Pastoral Leadership requires shared responsibility and works best in collaboration. Heads of House are responsible for working with staff to monitor the learning, wellbeing, and holistic development of all students in their House.

The Head of House will monitor the learning, welfare, and holistic development of students within their House, with other staff in this space. They will work to build relationships and effect the College vision and will have an inclusive interest in whole College matters. The Head of House will work cooperatively with colleagues who are involved in the academic development and welfare of students.

        Academic Staff - Junior Years

        Rostrevor College is welcoming applications for multiple permanent and temporary teaching opportunities in the Junior Years (Reception to Year 6) to commence in January 2025.

        The successful incumbents will also:

        • Possess good knowledge of evidence based pedagogical practices including Structured Literacy and Explicit Instruction
        • Create a positive learning environment that supports student wellbeing and personal responsibility
        • Plan, teach and assess authentic and differentiated learning experiences using the Learning Framework, Australian Curriculum and Crossways
        • Work collaboratively with other Primary teachers, staff, and students

            Health & Physical Education - Junior Years

            • Commencing January 2025
            • Permanent Full-time (1.00 FTE)
            • Reception to Year 6 (0.85 FTE); with
            • Middle Years Health and PE or Science (0.15 FTE)

            The position will undertake a load of 0.85 FTE in the Junior Years, teaching Health and Physical Education across Reception to Year 6. In addition to this, they will teach Health and Physical Education and/or Science in the Middle Years at 0.15 FTE.

            The Health and Physical Education Teacher will also be responsible for coordinating and planning Sports Day, Swimming Carnival and other community events in the Junior Years. During these periods, they will receive relevant releases from teaching duties.
