Yesterday we acknowledged and celebrated the Class of 2024’s last official day of schooling. The graduating cohort spent time with their House groups in the morning, reflecting on their journeys as they were farewelled by their younger peers. They were then treated to a morning tea on the Front Lawns before their final Liturgy together in the Chapel. The guard of honour formed by Junior Years students for the Year 12s as they exit their farewell assembly is always a beautiful display of Rostrevor brotherhood, with the youngest and oldest students finding connection in this symbolic tradition. The Class of 2024 finished their final day of school with a catered lunch on the Front Lawns, taking time to be together as a whole cohort before they delve into their exams in Week 4. While they will come together again at Presentation Night and at their graduation, yesterday was still an emotional time, being their last official day of classes and concluding 13 years of study. We wish them all the best as they now head into exams.
Happy World Teachers’ Day! Today is a day to acknowledge and thank the amazing teaching and ESO staff we have here at Rostrevor College, and also the teachers amongst the parents, caregivers and wider Rostrevor community members. We thank them for their dedication, their passion, their unwavering support and for making a difference every day! Our teachers and ESO staff were treated to a morning tea to mark the occasion.
Last Friday the Music Support Group hosted an exciting Quiz Night at the Hectorville Sports and Community Club, bringing together students, families, and community members for an evening filled with fun and camaraderie. Participants showcased their knowledge across a variety of topics, from music history to pop culture, interspersed with a variety of games.
The atmosphere was electric, with laughter and friendly competition sparking conversations among attendees. This event not only highlighted Rostrevor’s ingrained passion for music but also fostered connections within our vibrant music community. Prizes were awarded to the top teams, but everyone left with a sense of achievement and new friendships. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and volunteered to make the night such a success!

Callan Hall has undergone an upgrade over the past few weeks, with new Gerflor flooring installed to replace the preexisting rundown floor. The removal and installation were done by Adelaide Floortech, a family of our College community. Students can enjoy the upgraded facility from next week after the line marking fully cures. Junior Years students will also soon have access to a new basketball court, currently being built in the corner of Bungalow Oval closest to the Junior Years Office building. The excavations, preparation and concrete were actioned by LA Di Rubbo Concrete, another family within the Rostrevor College community. This project is expected to be completed during the Christmas school holidays while students and staff are off campus.
The Rostrevor 9/10 Knockout Cricket Team delivered a dominant performance in their clash against Charles Campbell College this week. Batting first, the team posted an impressive total of 275, headlined by a sensational innings from Archah Parisi, who scored 159 off just 92 balls. Our bowlers maintained control throughout the match, with Archie Shaw and Dusty Symonds leading the way and Cooper Douglass sealing the win with a final wicket. A solid all-round team effort in the field helped contain the opposition and secure a well-earned victory for the team!
It was a tough day on the field for our Year 7/8 team in their recent match. Batting first, the boys faced a challenging bowling attack and managed to post a total of 50 runs. Despite the low score, there were moments of resilience shown by our batters, who fought hard to put runs on the board. In response, Prince Alfred College capitalized on their strong start and successfully chased down our target, finishing with 2/147.
Congratulations to Jacques Malan and Joseph Honner who debuted as numbers 757 and 758 respectively for Rostrevor’s First XI Cricket team on Saturday. The team faced a challenging match, as the total of 160 runs fell short of Prince Alfred College’s 5-216. The team’s bowlers struggled to make consistent breakthroughs, with William Shaw and Joseph Honner picking up crucial wickets. In the field, William Fanning stood out with two catches behind the stumps, but PAC’s disciplined batting proved tough to contain. Despite notable contributions from players like Jake Polkinghorne (38 off 30) and Archah Parisi (22 off 38), Rostrevor couldn't maintain the momentum, resulting in a solid but ultimately unsuccessful chase in their first game of the season.
