Our four Ambassadors for The Charter for Children and Young People were lucky enough to have an audience with Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC Governor of South Australia. They were invited to a reception held at Government House to be formally thanked for their participation and efforts in bringing to life and being a voice for the Charter in our school and community.
I would like to thank both Jack Haddad (Year 12) and Alex Clark (Year 11) as their tenure concludes and look forward to Arjun Malhotra (Year 9) and Lucas Di Blasio (Year 9) taking the reins in 2024 with the help of new Ambassadors.
Yesterday on R U OK? Day we let the people around us know that we're here to hear, every day of the year. Asking R U OK? is the first step, but we need to make sure we genuinely listen to what comes next.
Murphy House ran a BBQ at lunchtime to raise money for the R U OK? Day charity who work towards suicide prevention and eliminating the stigma around speaking about mental health. Our Junior Years students marked the day with class discussions, craft projects and Zooper Doopers!

There was no shortage of House spirit on display on Wednesday as the Middle and Senior Years students put their athletic prowess on display at the 2023 Athletics Carnival. All students who competed in a range of field, track and novelty events should be proud of their efforts, contributing towards House points on the first warm day of spring. Congratulations to Egan House for their 10th win in a row!
Congratulations to the Year 7/8 Knockout Soccer team who were crowned State Champions yesterday after a thrilling penalty shootout win! After beating Blackwood 5-1 in the Semi-Final, we came up against Henley High who boasted an array of talent. We went into half-time 0-1 down but our boys remained focused and never gave up. Deep into stoppage time we earned a free kick just outside the box and with only seconds left in the game, Captain Alex Bastin (Year 8) stepped up to power home the equalizer sending the game in to extra time. Adam Marshall (Year 8) in goals saved two of Henley’s penalties, and our boys won the shootout 4-1! We were all impressed by the humble and sportsmanlike manner in which they conducted themselves. Watch Alex Bastin score his goal below!
The First XVIII squad, their parents, coaches and supporting staff gathered at Republic Norwood on Wednesday evening to celebrate the end of the 2023 season and to acknowledge the team’s standout players and those who helped to make the year a success.
