2025 and 2026 Enrolments

We are currently finalising enrolments for 2025 and 2026. We enjoyed hosting future and prospective families last week at our Come and Try Day and Principal’s Tour. As many year levels have reached capacity for 2025, existing Rostrevor families and those interested in joining our community next year or in 2026 are encouraged to submit enrolment paperwork to College Registrar, Annemarie Mein as soon as possible.

Loreto College Receptions Visit

The Reception class welcomed their Loreto College counterparts to Rostrevor yesterday for an afternoon of making friends. The boys and girls made and exchanged friendship bracelets before playing in the Junior Years courtyard and playground together at lunchtime. Thank you to teacher A’ishah Adamo and our friends from Loreto for organising this special event!

Charter Ambassador Program

Yesterday, three of the Charter Ambassador students had the privilege of attending a behind the scenes tour at Parliament House. This involved looking closely as the roll of parliament members and how laws are created and amended in South Australia through the Lower and Upper Houses. The boys were also given the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of guest speakers Attorney-General/Minister for Aboriginal Affairs the Hon Kyam Maher and Assistant Minister for Junior Sport the Hon Rhiannon Pearce.

White Card Training

Senior Years students were given the opportunity to undertake a White Card course yesterday in the Pavilion. The course covered the basic Work Health and Safety knowledge required prior to commencing work tasks within any of the building sectors. Some of the students will use it as Prior Learning to enrol into VET courses in 2025. It was delivered by training organisation North East Vocational College (NEVC). Due to the popularity of the course, another White Card day will be scheduled for early Term 3. Students are asked to contact Head of Flexible Learning Julie Farmer for the enrolment form.

Upcoming Webinar for Students: Navigating Your Post-School Plans with Confidence

Presented by Dr Michael Healy, this webinar is for students in the Senior Years (most relevant to Year 12 students) starting to make plans for after graduation.

“School is such a big part of your life; you might have mixed feelings as you approach the end of it. You might be excited about your next steps. But it’s okay if you’re not sure about your post-school plans or feeling a bit anxious or overwhelmed about it all.”

During this webinar, Dr Healy will be discussing:

  • Different kinds of post-school pathways.
  • Why it’s OK if you don’t know what you want to do.
  • Why it’s OK to change your mind.
  • Why ATAR might not be as important as you think.
  • How to research your options.
  • Who to talk to for help.

When: Wednesday 24 July, 4:30pm-5:30pm

Year 9/10 Knockout Soccer

Year the 9/10 Knockout Soccer Team began its state title defence on Tuesday by hosting Adelaide Botanic High School and St Michael’s College in a round robin format. After beating Adelaide Botanic 9-1, the team faced a much sterner test from the St Michael’s team. In wet and windy conditions, St Michael’s dominated the first half to lead 3-1 at half time.

Never to give up, the team rallied in the final 10 minutes to score two goals and take the game to penalties. Stand in keeper Sebastian Calabrese made two saves to lead the team to a 3-2 penalty shootout win. Goal scorers for the day were Max Wucsko with 4, Christian Tassotti with 3, Marcus Caporaso with 2 and Julian Sofia, Mitchell Coward and Matias Sauchelli with 1.

First XI Soccer vs Blackfriars

Hear from Coach Jamie Lee about Wednesday’s game against Blackfriars:

Rostrevor College extended their impressive winning run this week as Blackfriars were on the receiving end of a dominant display by the boys in red and black. After a spell of possession, Rostrevor finally broke through with their first threatening attack of the game. Good work from Barnaby Wood and Tyler Dalton down the left side allowed Barney the space to deliver a low ball across the box which Max Wucsko happily tucked away nicely for his first league goal of the season. Shortly before half-time Josh Zeeman gave Rossi a 2-0 lead. Joseph Terminello and Yel Akot linked up nicely down the right-hand side before Blackfriars could only clear as far as Zeeman, and the man from Tasmania unleased a rocket from 20 yards that flew into the net.

The second half carried on from where the first half left off as Rostrevor continued to dominate possession. Vincenzo Scalzi added another before Man of the Match Max Wucsko scored the goal of the game. Picking the ball up just outside the 18 yard box, Wucsko performed a neat turn taking two Blackfriars defenders out of the game before guiding the ball around the defender expertly into the bottom corner. Wucsko then capped his Man of the Match display off by completing his hat-trick with a header from six yards to give Rostrevor College a 5-0 win.
