On Ash Wednesday, I had the great pleasure of joining a gathering of Reception and Year 1 students with Head Prefect Darcy McKenny and Deputy Head Prefect Cameron Tunno to mark the beginning of Lent. The young students were wonderfully attentive as they learnt about the significance of Ash Wednesday and how small actions by each of us can help make the world a better place.
Older students in their PC groups reflected on the devastation in Ukraine and flood-affected eastern Australia. As Pope Francis encourages us "not to look away", the College is encouraging small donations to international aid and development agency Caritas via collection boxes in classrooms during Lent.
Rostrevor College was quick off the mark for tomorrow's World Environment Day, undertaking a whole-of-College litter removal from the far reaches of the grounds. Well done to Webb House for driving this initiative and making our great campus even more beautiful. See more photos of the clean-up here
Developing camaraderie and cohesion on and off the field should be no problem at Norwood this season with 12 of its senior squad members hailing from Rostrevor College. The school has long been a breeding ground for emerging Redlegs thanks to some great local talent as well as a strong contingent of boarding students from the Eyre Peninsula – part of Norwood’s recruitment zone.
Rostrevor graduates spanning 13 years from 2008 to 2021 have bolstered the side, including a recent crop of Eyre Peninsula players who have found a home at Norwood following stints at Geelong.

With the easing of COVID restrictions, it was time for some of Rostrevor's finest musicians to polish up their instruments and get together for their first Senior Band rehearsal of 2022. We can't wait to hear them in action at the earliest opportunity.
The Rostrevor College Advisory Council is seeking expressions of interest from the College community to nominate to join the Council. Parents of students in the Junior Years are encouraged to apply, especially those with a HR, wellbeing or diverse background. Thanks go to Sam Crafter, who has recently retired from the board after a lengthy period of valuable service. Current Council members include: Dr Vin Thomas (Chair), Mr Tony Circelli, Ms Jenny Paglia, Mr Craig Smith, Mr David Hall, Mr Darren Lynch and Mrs Julie-Anne Holmes (not pictured).
To learn more about the role and expectations, or to receive a nomination form, please email Helen Cocca (PA to the Principal) hcocca@rostrevor.sa.edu.au .
Congratulations to 16-year-old Fabian Talladira (Yr 11) on his recent debut in Adelaide United's NPL side. His success complements that of attacking midfielder David Preka (Yr 12), who is a regular player for Eastern United’s NPL team and also debuted as a 16-year-old in 2020. The pair is part of Rostrevor's new Specialist Soccer Program, coordinated by former Adelaide United player Daniel Mullen, which is designed to enhance the pathways and skills for emerging soccer talent.

It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces at the 30 year reunion for the class of 1991 held at the Bath Hotel on Saturday 26th February. The afternoon was full of smiles and stories reminiscing of their time spent at Rostrevor College. A huge thank you also goes out to the organising committee, Anthony Dimarzo, Chris Cattrall, Troy Di Lorenzo an Steve Olech. Without their efforts this event would not have been possible!
