Write of Passage Program 2018

Over 10 weeks in Term 3, select Year 10 English students visit Allity Walkerville Aged Care as part of a award winning 'Write of Passage' program that directly combines the Service Learning experience with the study of English in a practical and experiential way.

The students, paired with a resident to capture the life experiences, as shared by the resident, to create a written book of memoirs.

The program has been facilitated by creative writing guru, David Chapple (former Writing Development Manager for South Australia Writer's Centre) who has been amazed at how well our students have engaged with the program. The students have made themselves, the College and the involved staff and residents of Allity proud. They have produced some great material, accurately capturing the individual voices of their resident.
